Juan Carlos Alvarez

Juan Carlos graduated from California Technical and Paramedical College in 1992 and was Board Certified in Respiratory Therapy in 1993. He is also Board Certified in Asthma Education (AE-C), COPD Education, and is a Certified Senior Care Manager. Over the past 32 years, he has had a distinguished career working in intensive care, neonatal, pediatric, and trauma units in hospitals throughout southern California. Juan Carlos also has experience in the pharmaceutical industry working with Merck & Co., GSK, and Genentech/Roche. His broad experience ranges from direct patient care, sales and marketing, subject matter expert, to rare disease education.

In addition to working in patient care, Juan Carlos has pursued his interests in Political Science. He graduated from Pitzer College in 2006, where he was a Fulbright Scholarship Nominee and was published in the McNair Scholars Journal. He further pursued a master’s degree in international studies from Claremont Graduate University. He graduated in 2009, earning a prestigious Honorable Mention from the National Science Foundation for his research.
As an entrepreneur and business leader, Juan Carlos was also a partner/owner of a senior care franchise in Chino, CA, from 2011 to 2014, and furthered his business expertise as part of the country launch team for Nerium International Skin Care in Colombia.
